Cam FM Industry Workshops

This week at Cam FM we have not one but TWO industry workshops with heavyweights from the world of radio and TV who will be sharing their experiences, giving you tips on how to improve your broadcasting skills and giving you an insight into the industry in which they work.

Both are now BBC heavyweights, both were a big part of Cam FM not so long ago.

The first is with Spencer Kelly, Presenter of ‘Click’ on the BBC, who is coming to talk about how to enhance you radio show and how to get into the industry. He is also going to be showcasing how ‘Click’ is made and showing off some cool tech stuff. There will be a Q & A at the end. The key details are:

Where: Anglia Ruskin University, Cambridge Campus, Lab 027

When (Date): Wednesday 4th November

When (Time): Arrival from 7pm, talk start at 7:30pm

Event: https://www.facebook.com/events/167851983560560/

Cam FM members have priority entry to this event before 7:15pm. Make sure you click ‘going’ on the event to give us an idea about numbers for drinks etc!

If you have ever been curious about TV broadcasting, technology or journalism then this talk is for you.

The second is with Matt Fincham, current Producer for Annie Mac’s show on BBC Radio 1, and previously Producer to Nick Grimshaw and Assistant Producer to Chris Moyles on the Radio 1 Breakfast Show. He will be talking about the role of the producer in radio and how you can break into the industry. There will be a Q & A at the end. The key details are:

Where: Rushmore Room, St Catherine’s College

When (Date): Friday 6th November

When (Time): Arrival from 5pm, talk start at 5:30pm

Event: https://www.facebook.com/events/544081279079567/

If you've ever been interested in how radio works, been interested in getting involved with radio after graduation, or just like the stuff they do at Radio 1, this is the talk for you.

If you like the sound of the above and fancy trying radio for yourself, head to members.camfm.co.uk to sign up to our FREE training programme and, you never know, maybe one day you will be coming back to do a talk about your successful broadcasting career…
